1. Feed Dogs
The Feed Dogs are teeth-like and move the fabric through the machine.

2. Stitch Plate
The Stitch Plate contains lines and shows you how wide of a
seam allowance you are sewing.

3. Presser Foot
The Presser Foot holds the fabric in place against the Feed
Dogs and allows it to move through the machine.

4. Needle Clamp
The Needle Clamp holds the needle into the machine.

5. Thread Guide
The Thread Guide works to guide the thread in the correct
direction towards the needle.

6. Take-up Lever
The Take-up Lever pulls the thread from the spool and takes
it to the needle.

7. Tension Dial
The Tension Dial adjusts how loose or tight the thread is
going to the needle.

8. Bobbin Winder Tension
The thread must go through the Bobbin Winder Tension on the
way to the bobbin from the spool pin, otherwise it will be too loose on the
bobbin.

9. Quick Reverse Button
The Quick Reverse Button allows you to sew 2 or 3 stitches
in reverse to knot the thread so it will not come undone.

10. Screen
The Screen is like a computer screen. It tells you what
stitch you are sewing and what presser foot to use.

11. Bobbin Winder
The Bobbin Winder puts thread from the spool onto the
bobbin. You need both threads to sew on your sewing machine.

12. Stitch Width Buttons
The Stitch Width Buttons show how narrow or wide a stitch
can go.

13. Needle Position Buttons
The Needle Position can move from the center to the left of the center or to the right of the center. This is determined by what you are sewing.

14. Stitch Length Buttons
The Stitch Length Buttons determine how close together or
far apart the stitches you are sewing are. The closer together the tighter and
harder to remove. The farther apart they are, the looser and easier to remove.

15. Stitch Buttons
The Stitch Buttons are used to determine what stitch you
are sewing. Most sewing is done with a straight stitch #1.

16. Decorative Stitch Buttons
The Decorative Stitch Buttons allow you to sew fun and
different decorative designs. These are not used very often in everyday sewing.

17. Hand Wheel
The Hand Wheel allows you to manually raise and lower the
needle into the fabric. It is only to be turned towards you, as it will jam up
the threads if you turn it away from you.

18. Bobbin Case House
The Bobbin Case House is where the bobbin and bobbin case
will be when you are sewing.

19. Presser Foot Lifter
The Presser Foot Lifter raises and lowers the presser foot
from the fabric.

20. Spool Pins
The Spool Pins hold the spool of thread on the machine.
